CPA Review with Mr. Lord

The Accounting Club is happy to invite Mr. Lord to give a presentation on campus Wednesday, August 6, 4:00pm – 6:00pm. Mr. Lord is a Becker CPA Review instructor for classes in SF bay area. He will provide details on the CPA exam, its value, and the review classes. During his presentation, you will discover his teaching style and will be given the opportunity to ask questions.

Becker CPA Review’s “Meet the Firms”

Save the date for Becker CPA Review’s “Meet the Firms” on Wednesday, September 10th, 2008 from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. This event is an excellent opportunity to find a great job after graduation or to get a head start on finding an internship. Make sure to dress in business professional attire and bring plenty copies of your resume. This event only happens once a year and pre-registration is required. 2008 Summer and Fall Events

Time to mark your calendars! The upcoming events for Summer and Fall are as follows:

IRS Training Seminar: Monday and Tuesday, July 28-29.

The IRS is seeking volunteers to present a seminar to small-business owners regarding employment taxes (payroll taxes). Training and resource materials will be provided by the IRS. We are scheduled to attend the two-day training session in Oakland on July 28-29. Anyone interested in joining this seminar, please send email to gguchinese@gmail.com to begin registration. To participate, you must register by this Friday, July 18, 2008.

CFA Review: Thursday, July 31, 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM.

The CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) designation the most respected and valued credential in the finance and investment profession. Stalla CFA Review has more than 30 years experience in guiding candidates to mastery for the CFA Exams. The presentation will cover the information on CFA exam, its value, and Stalla CFA Review courses. Individuals will be given time for asking questions as well.

China Earthquake Donation Effort

On behalf of Chi Pi Alpha, we would like to sincerely thank all those who contributed to the accounting club’s China Earthquake Donation Effort.

We appreciate you opening your heart and making a gift to help those affected by the devastating earthquake in China. Your donation is designated to the Red Cross’s China Relief Fund, which is set up exclusively for the relief effort of the 2008 Sichuan Earthquake victims.

You will be happy to know that our club has raised a total of $770 with your help and the money will go directly to support those people who suffered the most from the earthquake.
